The decennial year celebration
The decennial year celebration on the second day was presented on the 21 st of December by the Secondary Section in a bright and colourful way. The chief guest Mr Allen Pereira CMD of Bank of Maharastra, the guest of honour Dr Mohan Alva Managinig Director Alva's Foundation, the President and Manager of Lourdes Central School Rev Fr J P Tauro were escorted by the Principal Ms Grace Noronha and other Senior Teachers. The other prominent personalities were Mr Joseph Nazareth Vice President Bijai Parish Council, Mr Ivan D'Souza President of Parent Teacher Executive committee, Mr Leo Rodrigues NRI were also present on the occasion.




The Programme began with a prayer song which was conducted by the school choir comprising of about seventy five students. The school orchestra performed mesmersing melodies which were indeed praise worthy. They also sang a song on our motherland ‘ INDIA ' .They were trained by the music teacher Mr. Ivan Mascarenhas assisted by Ms Rekha and Ms Zeena . The Principal Ms Grace Noronha welcomed the gathering and the school cabinet comprising Adith Jagadish the Head boy, Shershada the head girl, Kevin Fernandes , Akshaya Raj, Linet S Thomas, Deepak Lobo and Keerthi presented the various projects for the year 2008-2009 through a power point presentation.
The Chief Guest Mr Allen Pereira congratulated the school on its outstanding performance and hailed the school for being one of the best schools in town .He acclaimed the Principal and teachers for the wonderful work they have done to make LCS a unique school in its own way.
Dr Mohan Alva spoke on the importance of the Kannada language and the various ways by which we can keep up our Carnatik culture and traditions. The President and Manager of Lourdes Central School Rev Fr J P Tauro congratulated the Principal, staff and students on their Decennial year and asked them to continue doing the good work so that LCS may continue to shine.
The three skits enacted were worth watching and kept the audience spellbound. The Hindi skit which brought the message on ‘brotherhood' was written and directed by Mr Henry Mascarenhas and was assisted by Mr Manjunatha and Ms Leena Ajith. The humourous kannada play was directed by Mr Ratnakar, Mr Raghavendra and Mr Preetham was liked by one and all. The English play a musical comprising of dance, drama and song was presented by more than a hundred characters. It was scripted, directed and produced by the famous writer and dramatist Ms Giselle D Mehta and it was assisted by our staff members Ms Soya Satish, Ms Vidhya Joseph, Ms Deepa Menezes, Ms Shaila Pereira and the costume designing was assisted by Ms Roshini Jose.
The captivating show of the evening was the programme ‘dances of india ' which was a real treat to the eyes in which dances from all over India were showcased in an enthralling way. It ended depicting the unity of India with the song “Jai Ho”. The dances were directed by Ms Nandini, Ms Sharmila Colaco, Ms Jayashree our staff members and they were assisted by two of our enthusiastic parents Ms Sarika Bhandari and Ms Leena Mundkur.Hats off to them for presenting such a wonderful programme..
Ms Roshini Jose senior teacher proposed the Vote of Thanks and the programme was beautifully anchored by our students Disha Bhandary and Advik Shetty.
