LCS REGALE 2015

Children’s Day is celebrated in India every year on the birthday of our first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru who worked great for the well being of children like education, progress and welfare.

Rev. Fr Wilson Vitus D’souza inaugurated ‘LCS REGALE 2015’ by cutting the ribbon. The dignitaries present for the occasion were Rev. Fr Robert D’Souza- our beloved Principal , Vice Principal Ms Belita Mascarenhas, Assistant Parish Priests Rev. Fr Stany Pinto and Rev. Fr Paul Crasta, Mr Nirmal D’Souza- Vice President Bejai Pastoral Council,Dr Preethi Ballal-vice President of Parent Teachers Executive Committee, Mr Augustine Rodrigues and Mrs Charlotte Patrao- School Management Committee Members.

Rev Fr Wilson V D’souza also blessed the new Grotto devoted to Mother Mary –Patroness of Lourdes Central School followed by Prayer service.

Later the programme began with a prayer song devotionally sung by the LCS teachers lead by Mr Ivan Mascarenhas. This was followed by  a Welcome song were the LCS teachers sang melodiously and set the spirits.

Principal Rev Fr Robert D’Souza delivered the welcome address. He welcomed our school Manager Rev Fr Wilson V D’Souza, Assistant Parish Priests dignitaries on the stage, parents, student community and all present at LCS grounds. He  mentioned Jawaharlal Nehru’s Quote ~ Children are like birds in the garden, carefully nurtured as they are citizens of tomorrow. He addressed to the parents to give more time to their children, give love and affection and opportunities.

Father Manager handed over the International School Award won by LCS for the third consecutive year, to Father Principal and Mr. Henry Mascarenhas –ISA Coordinator.

Fr Manager addressed the gathering by congratulating the Principal, staff and students. He wished all children-‘Happy Children’s Day’. He stated the Irish quote       ‘Every child which is born has a definite story to tell, song to sing and a smile to give’. He said that “every child is a unique being and cannot be substituted. Every child should be given a chance to develop totally.”

Later Fr Manager released the balloons and declared ‘LCS Regale-2015’ open.

The games stall no 1. ‘Target your Luck’ was inaugurated by Mr Nirmal D’Souza. Mr Augustine Rodrigues and Charlotte Patrao inaugurated –‘Pass the electric Shock’. The food counter was inaugurated by Mrs Preethi Ballal.

The games stall to mention a few Wheel of fortune, dot the dart,  fishing the bottle, roll the dice for a prize, target your luck etc were extremely successful. The giant sized ‘Bouncy Ball’ and the gas balloon stall was a real highlight and little kids all loved it.

The highlight of the day was ‘LCS Talents Galore’ where students displayed their talents and entertained the audience with bollywood dance, classical dance, duet dance, group song, folk dance, pilivesha dance and of course the teachers bollywood dance.

Delicious food by ‘Gold Finch’ attracted huge crowd. Housie housie, baila dance, D J Kiran’s nonstop music was  a real entertainment for the whole LCS family.

The programme was compered by Ms Violet D’Souza and Ms Deepa D’Souza. Keith Veigas of Class XI proposed the Vote of Thanks.

The ‘Children’s Day Celebration’ was a grand success because of the whole hearted support of our dear Principal Rev Fr Robert D’souza, the programme incharge Vice Principal Ms Belita Mascarenhas,  Ms Shanthi Menezes, Ms Theresa Monteiro and Ms Linet D’Souza .The credit to the games stalls  resounding success  of course goes to Rev Fr Stany Pinto.

It was a memorable day full of fun, live music, great food and entertainment.
